Freelancer Vs Regular Job

Freelancing and having your regular job are two different things. Of course to some they would consider looking at freelancing as another type of job. Which is true. However, I'm talking about what exactly makes freelancing so different than a regular job? Let's take a look at normal jobs first and it's attributes.

Normal Jobs

1. Get paid on a monthly basis.
2. Work will be assigned whenever and it needs to be done within its deadline. Often within less time to as long as a few months or years to finish.
3. If done nothing for the day, which in return, no progress on any project or tasks assigned, the individual will still get paid which leads to poor management over human resources.
4. Stable and secure monthly income no matter what you do as long as the higher ups are just satisfied with the work done.
5. The individual is considered as part of the company. Like a family.
6. Will be sent for training if provided.
7. Will be doing a bulk load of work or less if incapable of handling difficulty of tasks assigned.

Now for the freelancing point of view.

Freelancing

1. Paid per project basis.
2. Works on contract.
3. Unstable and insecure monthly income.
4. If you don't work or look for projects, no possible income.
5. If you don't finish a project, you won't get paid.
6. Often trusted freelancers are paid more than the average job market would.
7. Project hosts will be paying value for money for completed and well done projects.
8. Less and/or absent of production waste.
9. Outsourced may deem cheaper for project hosts.

So those are the differences between freelancing and a normal job. Yes, freelancing is also considered a part-time job but that also has a difference. Reason being that a part-time job doesn't have a specific project to do and will be paid after a term of good work has been done. But on the other hand, freelancing needs to finish a specific project and get paid before starting up another one.

So for any companies out there want better results, freelancing is one of the many solutions. Getting a job done and get paid for it is what freelancing is all about. Unlike those who work within their partitions (internationals call them cubicles) would sometime not do their job properly. Hence, production waste. Basically there's plenty more pros and cons about freelancing as preferred to jobs but that's for your business to decide.
